Hora Lunga is David, a composer and musician based in Zurich.
In recent years his projects have ranged from pop music productions to experimental works and sound performances. His discography includes a number of solo and collaborative releases on independent labels. In addition to his work as a producer, he focuses on extended instrumental techniques and improvisation in his works.
He studied electro-acoustic composition at the Zurich University of the Arts and has composed for theatre and film productions mainly in Switzerland and Germany.
With the ensemble WIRREN, David has been artist-in-residence at the Dampfzentrale Bern, the Südpol Lucerne and the Gessnerallee Zurich. WIRREN consists of up to fifteen performers for whom David composes.
Throughout Hora Lunga's work, the focus is on exploring boundaries, both musically and in terms of performance and content. Above all, genre designations lose all meaning, as the music always takes place within a dramaturgically conceived overall framework and the listener embarks on a journey through different emotional states and musical categories.
